Conference Kickoff and ISTE Member Celebration

1–3 pm, Terrace Ballroom

Make the most of ISTE’s rich content—at ISTE 2011 and year round. In this fast-paced, fun program, media guru and session host Mario Armstrong will guide you through your onsite experience, help you network with your peers, and share tips for engaging with your membership throughout the year. All attendees will be entered into a drawing for fabulous prizes including an iPad, iPod Touch, and Kindle. Drop in early for some live entertainment provided by local students.

ISTE Member Community Events

A Great Way to Connect and Collaborate!
3–5 pm, Broad Street Atrium

SIG Open House
Learn what ISTE Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are all about by taking a stroll through our SIG Open house. SIG membership offers a great way to increase your knowledge base and connect with like-minded colleagues. Meet the volunteers who lead SIGs year round, learn more about SIG activities (onsite and throughout the year) and find out how you can get involved as a volunteer.

Community Meetups
Find your tribe early in the conference! Visit with the ISTE Learning Community, network with your tweeps in person at the ISTE 2011 Tweetup, and drop in to meet ISTE’s Emerging Leaders and fellow Young Educator Network members.

ISTE Voices Carry Advocacy Activity
Network with ISTE advocates, learn more about advocacy activities, and add your voice by “signing” the ed tech photo petition. Customize your message and let your elected officials know why ed tech is important to you. Together, our voices carry!

With Susan Brooks-Young
Sunday, 4–5:15 pm, Room 108

Enjoy a fun social evening with friends and colleagues at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Look for Global Collaboration Project Posters and Student Showcases to be active during this time. Also check out the Springside School & Mural Arts Program of Philadelphia activity at 8:30 pm.

Shuttle transportation will be provided between the center and some conference hotels. Last shuttles depart PACC at 8:45 pm.

The happy hour is open to registered attendees and badged guests only. Your badge is required for admission. Happy hour snacks, nonalcoholic beverages, and entertainment will be provided, courtesy of ISTE’s Tier One event sponsors Dell, Promethean, and SMART Technologies. A cash bar will be available.
