ISTE learning academies

Build a workflow for learning in the classroom and develop a sequence of activities that model classroom learning with the Google and Apple ecosystems of technology resources. Get hands-on with these curriculum-integrated topical sessions.

Google Tools for Learning

Select your strand for a customized Google for Education learning experience. All three strands will run simultaneously in this project-based session.

The Daily Drive (Beginner)

Dive into a hands–on exploration of ways to transform learning and teaching in your school using Google's tools for creativity, collaboration and communication. Attendees will explore Docs, Drawings, Forms and Slides, then learn how to streamline classroom workflow with Google Classroom.

Digging Deeper (Intermediate)

Dig deeper into lesser-known tools that can help you take your lesson to the next level. Attendees will explore how to use Forms/Sites for formative assessment development, YouTube Editor for the flipped classroom and My Maps for geographical exploration and data analysis.

Hack Your School (Advanced)

Learn how to hack Google Apps to solve your problems and dream up creative solutions to address your challenges. Attendees will explore Google Scripts and Add-Ons and experience the design thinking process in this three-workshop series.

iTools for Educators

Join us for a full-day experience in designing curriculum materials using the Apple ecosystem of tools. Bring along your own content and re-create your instructional materials for use on iPads. Learn to use iTunesU, iBooks and a collection of apps and tools while experiencing workflow dynamics and user interface design under the guidance of Apple Distinguished Educators. Choose from the Elementary, Secondary or Higher Education strands and leave with a solid start to a redeveloped curriculum. Novice to advanced iPad developers are invited.

Create content

Learning how to create course outlines in Pages, design presentations in Keynote, create and edit audio messaging in GarageBand, and combine all of the above through app smashing.

Build a course

Focus on design thinking, the elements of a course, building a learning structure, creating a course and app workflow.

Make an interactive book

Get hands-on with book design and interactive elements, then use what you've learned to build a short iBook!
